Admission to Assinman Nursing and Midwifery Training College (ANMTC) is open to qualified candidates who meet the academic and professional requirements for our BSc in General Nursing, BSc in Midwifery, and BSc in Public Health Nursing programs.
1. Science Students
Ghanaian applicants must have credit passes (A1-C6) in:
- Core Subjects: English, Mathematics, and Integrated Science
- Electives: Three (3) subjects from Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or Elective Mathematics
Foreign applicants must have a strong foundation in Science, Mathematics, English, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, one Arts subject, and Further Mathematics.
2. Non-Science Students
Ghanaian applicants must have credit passes (A1-C6) in:
- Core Subjects: English, Mathematics, Integrated Science, and Social Studies
- Electives: Three (3) subjects from Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Elective Mathematics, Food and Nutrition, General Knowledge in Arts, Economics, Animal Husbandry, Geography, Literature, General Agriculture, ICT, History, French, Ghanaian Language, Religious Studies, and Management in Living
3. Top-Up Applicants
Candidates with a recognized Diploma in Nursing, Midwifery, or Public Health may be admitted at an advanced level after an interview. Applicants must:
- Hold a Diploma from a Ministry of Health training institution or a diploma recognized by the mentoring university.
- Possess relevant professional certifications such as Registered General Nurse (RGN), Registered Midwife (RM), Community Health Nurse (CHN), or Mental Health Nurse.
4. Diploma Holders
- Candidates with a diploma directly related to their chosen program (e.g., a Diploma in General Nursing for the BSc in General Nursing) are eligible for Level 300 admission after an interview.
- Candidates with a diploma in a different but relevant healthcare field (e.g., a Diploma in Midwifery applying for the BSc in General Nursing) will be admitted at Level 200 after an interview.
5. Certificate Holders
i. Nurse Assistant Clinical (NAC) & Nurse Assistant Preventive (NAP) Applicants
- Must hold a valid Auxiliary Identification Number (AIN).
- Must have at least 2 years post-qualification experience.
- Must pass an access course organized by the college and supervised by the mentoring university.
